Simple Aerosol Fire Suppression System Calculation Formula

September 12, 2018

When we are talking about the design of a fire suppression system, any of these systems could design the correct extinguishing agent to protect the fire protection zone, so we need to design it by using design software on a computer and by using the design formula, hereby we give a simple formula of aerosol fire suppression system, to help calculate how many quantities of the aerosol agent is needed for a protection zone, to help the technician to design, installation and debugging the system in the protection zone, Below are the aerosol fire suppression system calculation formula:

For example:

a power generator room with a length of 10 meters, a width of 8 meters, and a height of 3 meters, it is designed to use a Floor Standing Aerosol Fire Suppression Device or a Wall-Mounted aerosol fire suppression device to install as a fire solution, the design program is as below:

1. Calculate the Volume of the Protection Zone:
V=L*W*H=10*8*3=240 cubic meters, So the Fa value makes it 1.0

2. The design application density is normally 0.14 kilograms per cubic meter.

3. Calculate the aerosol agent dosage in quantity (kilograms):
M=Da*Fa*V=0.14*1.0*240=33.6 kilograms.

Conclusion:

So this power generator room uses 3 sets of QRR10LW/S(10 kilograms) and 1 set of AW-QRR5LW/S(5 kilograms) to total flooding as a fire suppression solution for the room.

The aerosol fire suppression system calculation job is so easy!
