A Pipe Network FM200 gaseous fire suppression system has a higher storage pressure than that of a 4.2 MPA system, so the system can be used in larger spaces, such as mega factories, mega warehouses, large data centres, high-bay warehouses, large power plants, etc.

The benefit of the 5.6 MPa system pressure is that the gaseous extinguishing agent (Heptafluoropropane) can be delivered more quickly to the various defence zones to extinguish the fire as early as possible.

The pipe network system can share a common cylinder bank between the defence zones, which indirectly saves the cost of construction and annual maintenance of the fire protection system.

If you have multiple containment areas, one of which is oversized, then using this 5.6 MPa pipe network Heptafluoropropane fire suppression system is the most realistic.

It is worth mentioning that when Heptafluoropropane extinguishing agent is released, the pressure in the protection zone increases, and after the fire has been extinguished, it is necessary to depressurise and exhaust the protection zone, which requires the use of another complementary device – the pressure relief valve.

The pressure relief valve (automatic or mechanical) will remove the gas from the protection zone after the gas is released.

After releasing the 56-bar high-pressure gas, it is even more necessary to design multiple pressure relief valves to vent the high pressure to achieve safety.

5.6 MPa Heptafluoropropane fire extinguishing system is a high-pressure gas fire extinguishing solution.

Its features are mainly reflected in technical parameters, fire extinguishing mechanism, system design, and applicability. The following are its core features:

    • High Pressure Storage - The high-pressure design of 5.6MPa (MPa) allows the agent to be stored in a liquid compressed state, significantly reducing the size of the tank and making it suitable for space-constrained locations. Also suitable for oversized spaces.
    • Driven by 56-bar high-pressure, the extinguishing agent can complete the full flood release within 10 seconds, quickly reach the extinguishing concentration, and inhibit the spread of fire.
    • Its fire extinguishing energy efficiency is achieved through chemical inhibition and a physical cooling dual fire extinguishing mechanism. It can rapidly cool down and extinguish the fire.
    • The overall cost of the pipe network system is lower and more economical.
    • High pressure allows the use of longer or thinner pipework (compared to low-pressure systems) and adapts to complex building layouts.
    • Modular pipe network design for single or multi-bottle groups for easy extension of the protection area.
    • Compared to halon fire suppression systems, it is more environmentally friendly.
    • Human safety. It is typically designed for concentrations ≤9 per cent, which is close to the NOAEL non-toxic response concentration.
    • ODP=0, ALT=0, GWP=3500, and it is environmentally friendly.

5.6 MPa Heptafluoropropane fire extinguishing system is characterised by its high efficiency, environmental protection, and no residue.

It is widely used in enclosed or semi-enclosed places with high requirements on equipment and environment.

The following are its typical application ranges:

    • Computer rooms.
    • Data center rooms.
    • Telecommunication room and communication room.
    • Power distribution room.
    • Flammable liquid storage.
    • Art gallery.
    • Laboratory.
    • High-rise buildings.
    • Supermarket.
    • Power generator room.
    • Electrical cabinet room.
    • Gas turbines.
    • Oil Industry.
    • Offshore platform.
    • Bridge of vessels.
    • Record storage facility.
    • Switchgear rooms.
    • Control rooms.
    • Battery rooms.
    • Cable cellars.
    • Uninterruptible power system.

It is worth mentioning that the 5.6 MPa Heptafluoropropane fire extinguishing system is also suitable for the fire protection of high-value assets, precision equipment, cultural heritage protection, and confined spaces, which can combine fire extinguishing efficiency with environmental protection.

The Heptafluoropropane fire suppression systems are not suitable for the following scenarios:

    • Open or strongly ventilated areas: e.g., open warehouses, large atriums where it is difficult to maintain an effective concentration of extinguishing agent.
    • Active metal fires: e.g., lithium, sodium, potassium, and other metals burning (special Class D extinguishing agents are required).
    • Environments requiring continuous oxygen supply: e.g., places where people are stationed for long periods and cannot be evacuated quickly (strict concentration control is required).

In addition, sevoflurane fire suppression systems have the following requirements:

    • Protected area sealing requirements: doors, windows, vents need to be equipped with automatic closing devices to ensure that the concentration of extinguishing agent to maintained time (≥ 10 minutes).
    • Safety evacuation planning: sound and light alarm delay (usually 30 seconds) is required before spraying to ensure the safe evacuation of personnel.
    • Concentration calculation: precise design of the extinguishing agent dosage according to the volume of the protective zone to avoid concentrations exceeding the NOAEL (9%) safety limit.
