A thermal Activation Device, also called a thermal activation generator, is an automatic unique thermal detection and activation device that allows to detection of a fire, to activate the fire extinguishing device, it works with all fire extinguishing systems.

This device is a visible installation type, when the environment temperature arrives at the device’s rated temperature, after waiting a time delay of 15 to 99 seconds, it can cause an instantaneous current to the fire extinguishing units to make them work.

Adding a magnetic switch at the wire-connection box can help transmit the activation signal feedback to the fire extinguishing system. inside the wire-connection box is accompanied by an indicator, and circuit board, when the device has voltage output, the indicator light highlights, and a photoelectric switch can help transmit the signal to the fire extinguishing systems.

    • Signal Feedback Function: Included.
    • Compatibility: aerosol, foam, water-mist, dry chemical, and gas system.
    • Working Principle: Utilizing the principle of electromagnetic induction to generate current and activate the fire extinguisher.

This thermal activation generator is an accessory of fire suppression systems of aerosol fire extinguishers and dry chemical fire suppression units.

The Thermal activation generator not only takes the role of fire detection element but also takes the role of starting the fire suppression systems, it has below features:

    • It can be used as a standard thermal detection element with a fire temperature reading.
    • It can be connected to the standard fire control panel of a fire alarm system by use of an additional electronic box.
    • Complied with an explosion-proof junction box TAD can be used in a safety sensor D3 for application in hazardous areas.
    • The device TAD is very suitable for autonomous actuation in a fire suppression system.
    • No external power supply is required.
    • It can work with fire alarm systems to work for fire detection.
    • It can operate separately, in other words, it is also a stand-alone detection accessory for fire protection.

Work alone with fire suppression system generators without any outer power supply, and also can work with fire alarm systems, below are its partners:

    • Aerosol fire extinguisher and systems.
    • Dry chemical powder fire extinguisher and systems.
    • Fm200 fire suppression systems.
    • Carbon dioxide fire extinguishing systems.
    • NOVEC 1230  or FK5-1-1-2 fire protection systems.
    • Inert gas IG541 fire protection systems.
    • Foam fire suppression systems.
    • Water-mist fighting systems.
    • Other relative fire extinguishing systems.

When the device detects that the ambient temperature has reached the activation temperature, the thermosensitive head melts, and the internal magnetic components move under the pressure of the compression spring. The inductance coil ignites the current to ignite the fire extinguisher generator.

    Please note the following:

    • Volume protected by one device shall not exceed 18 cubic meters.
    • The thermal activation device should be installed in a protected area 50 to 200 mm below the ceiling.
    • The thermal activation generator is suitable for application in hazardous
      areas of 2ExeIIT6 category.
    • Its maximum relative humidity is 98% (non-condensing).
    • The startup temperature of this device can also be customized specifically for customers.
    • After installation, the safety pin of the device should be promptly removed.
